Why are there a lot of people who are satisfied with
mediocrity? It’s one of the sad realities of life that we deal with everyday.

Have you ever asked a sales representative if they have
another stock of the rubber shoes or slip-ons that you want to purchase and
then they would say “no” just because they don’t want to get it? It’s annoying!
Believe me. I’ve experienced somewhat like that today.

Last weekend, I found a dong-a
u-knock retractable refill in my pile of junk (and school supplies) and
sadly, I didn’t find any retractable pen from that pile. I thought of buying a
pen so I can use the refill (oh yeah! What a genius!). I wanted to use that
refill and I thought I’d need a black pen again anyway.

So the glorious day came wherein I found myself infront of
the favorite bookstore of almost all Filipinos. There I was walking inside
National Bookstore (cubao branch). Hehe. There were a lot of people, minding
their own business and I wanted the saleslady in front of me to mind me. I knew
what I wanted and so with all my might, I readily asked for a dong-a
retractable pen. She immediately told me after having a glimpse on the shelf of
pens with the dong-a label that they don’t have it and that dong-a doesn’t have
a retractable pen. I was like “I have a refill at home so imposible na walang
retractable pen ang dong-a”. Why the heck will dong-a have a refill for a pen
that doesn’t exist! Like, duh! But of course, I was kind enough to let it pass
and asked the lady for a faber retractable pen instead.

On my way home, I thought of checking out the pen that I
bought and remove the price tag sticker. I just hate the sticky remnants of the
price stickers. Anyway, as I was removing the sticker, I noticed that the brand
isn’t faber at all. It was a dong-a pen. Oh how I wanted to go back there and
shove it in the face of the saleslady. Haha.

This is just one of my non-adventures. Lol.
